In a career spanning more than 3 decades I worked in various divisions both at New Delhi and in Indian Mission/Post abroad. In New Delhi I was associated with Finance, Publicity, Training, Protocol, and Political, Global Cyber issues and Counter Terrorism work. I successfully handled a lobour strike by Indian workers in Libya, helped increase India's trade with land locked Kyrgyzstan, improved bilateral relations between India and Mongolia and consular work cum community relations in Bahrain in USA. Cooper City, Florida USA declared 15 August 2020 as Shailesh Lkhtakia Day.
